After the expiration of the technical and commercial lifespan, windfarms (on- and offshore) need to be decommissioned. As this is a crucial phase, wind farm owners and developers require support on how to plan their decommissioning. IX Renewables has this experience in-house because:
- We have supported clients for many years in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) Management of offshore and onshore wind development
- We have supported clients with onshore wind turn-key decommissioning projects.
The combination of our experience means that we are the right partner in a relatively new market. Support is possible in early stages by making a decommissioning plan as part of the concession but can also in creating a financial model for the decommissioning and drafting an end of lifetime strategy / life time extension plan. Onshore turbines at the end of life can still be reused or re-installed completely before they really reach their end of life where they will be recycled. We can support our clients with the dismantling scope of onshore turbines and, also find a new destination for the complete turbine for a second life or for some components as spare parts.
