During WindEurope 2025 at the Bella Center Copenhagen, IX Renewables presented a fully cardboard exhibition stand — a deliberate choice that made our sustainability ambitions tangible.
WindEurope is Europe’s leading wind energy event, bringing together thousands of industry professionals, policymakers, developers, investors and supply chain partners. It is where strategies become partnerships and ambition turns into deployment. If the energy transition has a physical meeting point in Europe, this is it.
On a stage like that, we believed our presence should reflect more than expertise alone.
Turning Message into Material
In collaboration with Kartent, our entire stand was constructed from sustainably produced cardboard. No traditional aluminum frames. No heavy timber constructions. No conventional stand-building materials that are transported across Europe only to be dismantled days later.
Walls, structures and furniture were made from high-quality, recyclable cardboard. Lightweight. Modular. Reusable. And surprisingly comfortable!
Why cardboard?
Because the energy transition is about mindset, not just Megawatts.
And credibility starts in the details.
Practical impact, not just symbolism
Aside from being a visual statement the cardboard stand delivered measurable advantages:
- Reduced transport weight
- Lower associated CO₂ emissions
- Fast installation and dismantling
- Fully recyclable after use
At an event dedicated to accelerating renewable energy, we felt it was important that even our exhibition footprint aligned with the principles we advocate professionally.
Sustainable Conversations in Hall C4
Visitors were invited to take a seat — on cardboard chairs — and discuss offshore wind developments, international markets and project opportunities with our team. The stand became a conversation starter, not only about wind energy, but about circular thinking and responsible choices across the value chain.
Check out this timelapse video of the construction of the stand, which took little under an hour!
